It is an integration of art and a resonance of aesthetics. This morning (May 16th), the "China-Italy Fashion and Culture Carnival" grandly kicked off at Yangpu Riverside. With the theme of "Time-Space Folding - The Innovative Riverside 'Dialogues' with the Eternal City", the event, held on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy, presented citizens with a feast integrating the fashion cultures of the two countries.
From the ancient squares of Florence to the industrial heritage of Yangpu Riverside, art has always been an eternal bond connecting China-Italy friendship. At the launching ceremony, Luca Stradivari, heir to the Italian violin-making family, performed Impressions of Vivaldi with a century-old famous violin, and the Baroque melodies echoed leisurely in the century-old Minghua Sugar Warehouse; singer Denise Barbieri, with O Sole Mio, transcended time and space, pouring the golden sunshine of Naples onto the banks of the Huangpu River. And it is not only music that breaks the language barrier - Elliot, a magician who has lived in Shanghai for ten years, brought the interactive magic show Enchanted and drew bursts of laughter from the audience with "borderless happiness".

When Italian velvet and Chinese silk shone together on the catwalk, when Baroque gold thread embroidery met Oriental embroidery... The Silk Road Fashion show turned the cultural dialogue along the Silk Road into a flowing artistic epic. Italian designers demonstrated the avant-garde spirit of the fashion capital with bold silhouettes and bright colors, while Chinese designers interpreted the implicit and meaningful Oriental aesthetics through intangible cultural heritage embroidery techniques. "These fabrics are not only carriers of fashion, but also tangible cultural dialogues," sighed a citizen who watched a fashion show for the first time.
After the catwalk show, Chinese and Italian guests took the stage together to start the golden sand hourglass device, marking the official opening of this "China-Italy Fashion and Culture Carnival". A person in charge of the Italian Innovation Center said: "This is not only a tribute to the 55-year friendship between the two countries, but also opens a new chapter for future cooperation between Yangpu and Italy."
This event is hosted by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Yangpu District Government and the District Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, undertaken by the Italian Innovation Center, and supported by institutions such as the District Commerce Commission and Foreign Affairs Office, as well as platforms including Xiaohongshu and Bilibili. Meanwhile, more than 150 representatives from Chinese and Italian political and business circles, overseas Chinese leaders and cultural celebrities were also invited to attend, including 30 Italian representatives for economic, trade and cultural exchanges who made a special trip to Shanghai.
