On May 18, 2025, a government delegation from Parma, Italy visited Shanghai's Yangpu District for working talks with Liu Jinyuan, Deputy Mayor of Yangpu District, and heads of relevant departments. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on potential cooperation across multiple fields including economic trade and investment, technological innovation, cultural exchange, and fashion design, while exchanging views on matters of shared interest.

During the symposium, Deputy Mayor Liu Jinyuan extended a warm welcome to the delegation and comprehensively presented Yangpu District's achievements in technological innovation, industrial upgrading, and cultural creativity. During the meeting, the Italy Innovation Center formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Reggio Calabria region. Under the agreement, the two parties will establish a regular cooperation mechanism to deepen collaboration in technology transfer, industrial incubation, and talent exchange, facilitating the mutual sharing of innovation resources.

The President of the Italy Innovation Center stated that this partnership will leverage the complementary strengths of both sides in science, technology, and industry. It aims to promote the implementation of high-quality projects and establish an efficient, pragmatic cooperation platform for Chinese and Italian enterprises.
