"Shanghai is an excellent venue for hosting international fashion exhibitions." Gianluigi Resta, General Manager of the Italian international consulting firm GR, who has been engaged in the Milan fashion industry for many years, could hardly contain his excitement during his first visit to China. "I hope to bring more Italian fashion brands to Shanghai and also introduce more Chinese designers to Milan."

Last weekend, the "2025 China-Italy Fashion and Culture Carnival" was held along the Yangpu Riverside. Thirty Italian figures from the business and cultural sectors flew to Shanghai specially, and Gianluigi was among them. Over three days, more than 30 Italian brands conducted intensive matchmaking with local enterprises.

The three-day trip to Shanghai brought fruitful results for many Italian entrepreneurs. "What touched me most was seeing many Italian restaurants on the streets of Shanghai," said Concetta Tassone, General Manager of the Italian branch of the multinational group AT Group. She noted that Italy has a long history of food culture, with many unique dishes. During this trip, she brought several food brands under her company to China. Over the three days, she held talks with multiple Chinese platforms and agents, reaching initial cooperation intentions. "I'm glad to see Italian cuisine being popular in the Chinese market. There is more room for economic and trade cooperation between the two countries."

Beyond the business orders from economic and trade cooperation, the dialogue between the two civilizations also left a deep impression on many members of the Italian delegation. "Italy and China are universally recognized as ancient civilizations and are the two countries with the most world heritage sites. There is ample room for cooperation and mutual learning in archaeological discoveries, cultural and tourism development," said Stefano Prato, President of the China-Italy Promotion Association.

This year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy. Xu Shunwu, General Manager of the Italy Innovation Center, stated that more business delegations will be organized this year to lead Chinese enterprises to conduct matchmaking in Italy and other European countries. Efforts will also be made to strengthen the functions of overseas enterprise incubators and accelerate the application of advanced Italian technologies in China. The center is committed to building a "super bridge" for China-Italy cooperation and creating a new situation of mutual benefit and win-win results.
