On September 27, Wei Jing, president of the Putuo Overseas Friends Association in Shanghai, led a delegation on a visit to the city of Prato, Italy, where she had an in-depth meeting with the General Association of Overseas Chinese in Rui'an, Italy, and the Association of Chinese Entrepreneurs in Prato, Italy, accompanied by the Italy Innovation Center. The visit aimed to further strengthen communication and exchanges between the two organizations, build a bridge of cooperation, unite the forces of the overseas Chinese community, and create new opportunities for development together.

During the meeting, President Wei Jing focused in particular on the life and work of Chinese residents in Italy, inquiring carefully about their actual conditions in terms of business activities, social integration, and their children's education, while conveying the care and greetings of the leaders of their hometown. She emphasized that Putuo District has always attached great importance to the affairs of the Chinese diaspora and is willing to continue to provide support and services to compatriots abroad.

The president of the Rui'an Overseas Chinese General Association in Italy, Ding Jinrong, outlined the current situation of the local community's business development, sharing the association's experience and initiatives in community services, as well as in promoting economic, commercial, and cultural exchanges between China and Italy. He emphasized that Chinese entrepreneurs in Prato have deep roots, particularly in the fashion and textile sectors, where they enjoy a unique competitive advantage.

The Italian Innovation Center highlighted its role as a bridge between China and Italy, including organizing business exchanges, supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, and promoting summer camps for young Chinese-Italians, thereby fostering better cultural transmission and social integration among the younger generation.

All parties agreed on the importance of continuing to build multi-level cooperation platforms, promoting exchanges and links in the economic, commercial, and cultural sectors, to help overseas Chinese better integrate into local society and to give new impetus to friendly relations and pragmatic cooperation between China and Italy.

At the end of the meeting, the delegation, accompanied by representatives of the associations, visited two representative fashion companies in Prato, observing closely the development of Chinese companies in the areas of innovative design, brand building, and international management. The members of the delegation expressed great appreciation for the ability of Chinese companies to explore diversified development paths and demonstrate innovative vitality.

This visit not only strengthened the understanding and friendship between Putuo and Prato, but also laid a solid foundation for further deepening exchanges and cooperation in the future.
