The Shanghai Urban Space Art Season 2025 will open its doors this fall at the Shantai Park area on Fuxing Island, in the Yangpu district. The Italian Innovation Center (CII), as a leading institution in international cooperation, has been invited to participate in the opening ceremony, becoming one of the focal points highlighting global innovation in the fields of technology and art.

The exhibition, jointly organized by the Shanghai Planning and Natural Resources Bureau, the Municipal Department of Culture and Tourism, the Municipal Department of Sports, and the Yangpu District Government, has as its theme “Quantum City, Rebirth of the Future.” The goal is to explore new paradigms of integration between “AI + urban space governance,” showcasing the profound fusion of technology, art, and urban spaces.

The main area will feature distinctive spaces such as Fuxing Square, Fuxing Avenue, and the Riverside Market. Thanks to the combination of artificial intelligence, artistic design, and the regeneration of public spaces, the public will be able to enjoy an immersive urban experience. In addition to the exhibition center on Fuxing Island, the exhibition also includes 16 secondary thematic areas, including the Xuhui Riverside Science and Technology Innovation Road, the Zhangjiang Art Hub in Pudong, and the Caojing Digital Nomad Village in Jinshan, offering a comprehensive overview of innovative practices in urban development.

As guests of honor, representatives from the Italian Innovation Center explored the exhibition's content in depth. The Center has long been dedicated to promoting the achievements of Italy and China in the fields of smart technology, artistic design, and sustainable development, maintaining close dialogue with China in the areas of innovation and urban regeneration. Looking to the future, Jin Rong, Vice President of the Center, and Li Haiyan, Secretary General, stated that the institution will continue to serve as a bridge between art and technology, strengthening cooperation with Shanghai and other international partners, promoting further experimentation and practices oriented towards the city of the future, and contributing to the global realization of the concept of the “Quantum City.”
