Shanghai, November 10 (Fan Yubin) – On November 9, the “Forum on Italian-Chinese Trade Cooperation: Connecting with Confidence” was held in Yangpu District, Shanghai, hosted by the Italian Innovation Center. The event aimed to facilitate the implementation of projects in China by Italian exhibitors at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) and to deepen practical exchanges between China and Italy in the fields of technological innovation and industrial cooperation.
Xu Shunwu, president of the Italian Innovation Center, said that the organization will continue to act as a “connector” and “accelerator,” facilitating the transition of bilateral commercial intentions into concrete project implementation.
Liu Jinyuan, deputy head of Yangpu District, emphasized the district's ongoing commitment to optimizing the business environment, providing comprehensive policy support and service guarantees to Italian companies to promote practical cooperation in several key sectors. He also expressed his hope that China and Italy would establish a long-term cooperation mechanism, deepening exchanges through platforms such as the Italian Innovation Center, in order to jointly complete more collaborative projects.

Mayor Rudy Lici of Gerace, Italy, presented the city and its region, Calabria, as a link between Europe and the Mediterranean. He outlined a project to transform Gerace from a thousand-year-old city into a “living laboratory” that integrates history, ecology, and digital innovation. He extended a sincere invitation to partners from Shanghai and Yangpu District to visit the city and explore opportunities for cooperation in trade, tourism, culture, and innovation.
Representatives from Italian companies, including AT Group, SAB Design, and SPED Engineering Group, shared Italy's advanced concepts and practical experience in the fields of cultural arts, heritage conservation design, and engineering technology. They expressed a strong desire to engage deeply in the Chinese market and jointly expand the horizons of cooperation.

During the signing ceremony, the Italian Innovation Center entered into strategic cooperation agreements with the Italian municipality of Gerace and SPED Engineering Group, also signing a tripartite memorandum of strategic cooperation with SAB Design Company and Shanghai Yueben Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd. These agreements, which cover areas such as the promotion of cultural tourism, collaboration on architectural and engineering projects, and innovation in design, mark a new phase of institutionalized, project-based cooperation between China and Italy.
During the event, company representatives held in-depth discussions on technological collaboration, market expansion, and resource integration. The atmosphere was lively, and several companies reached preliminary cooperation agreements.
Reportedly, this forum deepened mutual trust and cooperation between China and Italy in the industrial, financial, and cultural sectors, giving new impetus to Yangpu District's efforts to create a high-level international cooperation hub in the field of innovation. In the future, Yangpu District will maintain an open and inclusive attitude to deepen exchanges with international innovation hubs such as Italy, promoting the implementation and realization of further international cooperation projects.
