A New Chapter in Deepening Sino-Italian Cooperation | Shanghai Italian Innovation Center and Tongji University Discuss Development Strategies

Recently, representatives from the Italian Innovation Center, led by President Marco Xu, held a working exchange meeting with Yin Wen, Director of the Office of International Affairs at Tongji University, Peng Xianjie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Arts and Media, and Wu Xiaohui, Vice Dean of the Sino-Italian Institute of Engineering Innovation. The two sides reached multiple consensus on deepening Sino-Italian cooperation in education, culture, and economy and trade, and clarified that substantive cooperation will be carried out around student exchanges, business matchmaking, and cultural activities.

During the meeting, President Marco Xu introduced the Italian Innovation Center. Yin Wen, Director of the Office of International Affairs at Tongji University, highlighted the Sino-Italian Institute of Engineering Innovation, which will officially be inaugurated this coming September, and shared his vision for future cooperation between the two parties.

The two sides also discussed coordination on the Italian Innovation Center's "Carnival" event and the continued "Root-Seeking Tour for Young Chinese Heritage" summer camp, along with other cultural activities. They agreed to establish a regular communication mechanism to jointly promote two-way student exchanges and the integration of industry and education.

This meeting marks a new phase in the strategic cooperation between the Shanghai Italian Innovation Center and Tongji University. The two parties will work together to build a Sino-Italian cooperation ecosystem of "education attracting talent – culture setting the stage – economy and trade taking center stage," injecting new momentum into the region's opening-up and high-quality development.
